The Lemon Tree Cookery School
Brought to you by Camilla Schneideman, founder of the Divertimenti Cookery School and author of The Divertimenti Cookbook, the Lemon Tree aims to bring culinary enlightenment to cooks of all abilities through a series of intimate hands-on cookery classes. Teaching in a specially designed light and spacious kitchen in North Kensington, Camilla (and the occasional guest chef) will demystify culinary techniques from pastry making to soufflés, and exotic flavour combinations as diverse as Egyptian dukkah and aromatic Thai curries.
How the classes work:
Hands-on workshops last four to five hours, depending upon the theme. The morning begins with coffee and pastries, whilst the days cooking is discussed. Then it's time to roll up your sleeves and get cooking. Classes are mainly hands-on, with some demonstration where necessary. Camilla will guide you through the techniques involved, making sure that you iron out any bad habits, and will provide lots of tips, short cuts and advice on ingredients. Once the hard work is done, you can relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the late lunch that you have helped to create. Copies of all of the recipes will be provided, and where possible, you will be able to take home food that you have cooked.
Demonstration classes last approximately two and a half hours, and include lunch or dinner with wine. They take place around our specially designed island unit, and can include some student participation where relevant. Copies of all of the recipes will be provided. Class numbers are kept small for maximum enjoyment.
